I used to think that kicking drills were my least training part of swimming. But I've found something new that may tie, if not replace it--swimming with a parachute.
You've got this piece of canvas, attached to a lead and that is attached to a belt/harness you can wear. You swim out and the parachute "inflates" in the water, creating greater resistance as you attempt to swim down through the water.
It's almost as much fun as it sounds. I will say this--it really will give you a good shoulder and arms workout. The legs may get a good one as well, though mine try to find a way to not get tangled in the lead.
I've also started working on my flip turns, which right now I can do a great flip, it's the turn part where I lose focus. I had one great one and a whole lot of other attempts that didn't quite all turn out right. I can see what I'm doing wrong, but I am working on ways to get it fixed. I am determined to find a way soon....
