Adam "Pacman" Jones is
making headlines again for his off the field antics. I guess he got jealous that the media reported on the positive story of the Titan's drafting Vince Young and others over the weekend and decided he had to get his name back out there in the news.
Seems that Pacman has decided that should he show up for the voluntary work-outs at Baptist Sports Park, there's be too much of a media circus surrounding his being there. So he's working out somewhere that's lower profile and he'll be less visible.
As local call-in host Greg Pogue pointed out this morning, if Pacman wants to be lower profile and restrict his access to the media, then he should get into Baptist Sports Park. From what I understand in listening to Pogue, the media is only allowed in certain areas of the complex. So it's not like Pacman would be there doing weight training while fielding questions from local and national media. Also, if Pacman wants to stay out of the media spotlight, then maybe he should think about staying home in the evenings or about the company he keeps off the field. I'm not saying that you abandon your friends, but I am saying put some thought into where you go with them and what you do.
So instead of being at these workouts which might help him become part of the team, he's off doing his own thing. The thing that gets me is how Pacman acts like he's entitled to a lot of things but he's done nothing to earn it. He's not shown himself to be a team player, instead seemingly concerned with what's best for Pacman. He has made little or no attempt to try and ingratiate himself to the local fans. He's shown no signs of wanting to get better on the field. He's acted like a petulant child and yet the Titans keep facilitating this type of behavoir. Yes, Jeff Fisher has expressed his lack of happiness with the situation, but all I see is a Jeff wagging his finger at Pacman saying, "No, no, no!" in the desparate hope that the third "no" will sink and snap Pacman back to reality.
Honestly, the team is better off without this punk. I've said it before and I'll say it again--cut your losses. Cut Pacman now. His actions show he has a blatant disregard for the whole team concept and I don't care how much on the field potential he has, the Titans are better off both on and off the field without him.
