Friday afternoon I heard
the reports that a sub-committee of Congress has decided the BCS system is "flawed" and that they're going to look into fixing the system.
Alrighty then....
Yeah, they did such a good job on that whole steroid thing in baseball that I can't wait for them to fix college football's lack of a playoff system. I'm sure the BCS committee is just quaking in their boots. And you know, it's nice to know the budget is balanced and they've found solutions to all the other problems on their plates and can now focus that same attention and devotion to excellence on college football.
In case you missed it, that last part was extremely sarcastic.
Speaking of the BCS, I guess the pundits got what they've wanted since the pre-season in the Rose Bowl--USC vs Texas. Honestly, looking in on the games they played yesterday, I had to wonder again--would either of these teams be undefeated in a real conferences with real teams like the SEC? And as much sarcasm and scorn as I heaped on Congress for looking into this, maybe that could get all the conferences on the same page to have a title game like the SEC, which let's face it, is the leader and the superior conference on the land, hands down.
