We had a softball double-header last evening, which meant I had to tape the season premieres of
Gilmore Girls and
House as well as the the first episode of the new David Boreanaz show,
Bones. But I did manage to see the first five or so minutes of
Gilmore Girls before I had to head out to the softball field so I do know what Luke's answer was to Lorelai's proposal. I just haven't had time to watch the other 55 or so minutes and find out what kind of fallout and complications there will be from this--and you know there have to be some because, well, this is
Gilmore Girls.
On a related note, is this the first time I've "outed" myself as a fan of
Gilmore Girls in the blog? And is there anything really that wrong with that? I mean--come on! Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel in one show...how can you possibly go wrong there? And even though I know of no one who talks like they do in real life--full of wit, sarcasm, pop references galore--a guy can still dream, right?
So, I've not seen how things unfold. But I also knew I'd be too weak to avoid SPOILERS for the answer to the question and thankfully the softball field is less than five minutes from my house. So, it all worked out.
Last night was my first night as being the one who officially sets the line-up for the team. Yeah, I have a new found respect for those who do that on a regular basis. They make it look so easy. Of course, I'd love to tell you the my lineup broke new ground and we won both games. But that didn't happen--the winning both games part. But we were competitive in the first one and held the lead for a long period of time before surrendering it late. But hey, again, we had a good time and no one got (seroiusly) injured. (We had some scrapes, bumps and bruises but there weren't any major injuries like one on another field where I think a first base-person was struck in the head by a ball....from what I hear she is going to be OK, thank goodness).
During the first game, we played a team that had one particular female player who was this odd combination of scarily competitive and amazingly attractive. This woman slid into home face first at one point (she was tagged out by us BTW). I was standing in the dugout managing things for the first game and commented to myself, "Wow, that is pretty hot." To the point that I thought--I should get her number later. (I didn't....)
And next week starts the week of softball games just about every night. We start out Monday with a double header and then have a single game on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (two of them are make-up games for rain-outs). And with that, comes the complication of trying to remember who will be at what games and when....I swear I need some kind of flow chart to keep track of all this. And I thought managing my fantasy football team took a lot of organization. It ain't nothing compared to this...
