Sunday night, the thrill-ride that is
24 is back! As much as I enjoy
Alias, I'll have to admit that
24 is, for me, the better show.
As you probably know by now, the hook of
24 is that each episode is "real time" showing the events of one hour. Add up all the episodes and you have a complete day. And let me tell you, this show is completely addictive.
But some of you are saying--"But I missed the first three years". Not to worry. From what I'm hearing, you can jump into season four knowing that Keiffer Sutherland is our hero, Jack Bauer, and that the story unfolds in "real time". If you're still wondering on some of the backstory,
USA Today has some of it here. And there's a scorecard of
who is who in the new day.
Finally, Robert Bianco (who is self-professed fan of the show...he also was a big supporter of other great shows like
Buffy and
Angel)
gives the 2-hour premiere Sunday night (we get the first two hours Sunday and then the next two hours Monday night)
four stars.
To say I'm eager to for the new day to begin is a bit of an understatement. And one more good thing--this year, FOX decided to run
24's season without any hiatuses. Other fans of the show, who had to endure the long hiatuses during previous days (FOX didn't do repeats) will understand that this is a very, very good thing.
