Things in the News That Caught My Attention.
Tributes to Ronald Reagan
With the passing of President Reagan, the country is paying tribute to him in a variety of ways--from the near ceaseless discussion of him and his legacy on every news outlet to other unique tributes. One of them is
his portrait in jelly beans. Another idea from the Republicans in Congress is to have Reagan's image put on the
fifty cent piece and twenty dollar bill. Here in Nashville,
local funeral homes have set out books for visitors to sign that will be sent to the Reagan family.
Tennessee is luring reality TV producers
I'd be very interested to know just what kind of reality shows would be filmed in our state. As long as it's not something like
The Simple Life 3, it should be OK.
LA Lakers 99, Detroit 91, OT
I am not an NBA fan in any way shape or form. But I have to admit I'm one of those who roots for the underdog and part of me was happy when I flipped over last night to see the Pistons up by six with a minute or so to go. Unfortunately, they couldn't hold onto the lead and end up losing--of course, that's what you get when you don't defend Kobe on a three with time winding down and only score two points in OT. I was sort of hoping the Lakers would be down 2 games, but thanks to their winning we get at least three more games.
Is it football season yet?!?
